Yes it is time for yet another Booking Through Thursday. Here is this week’s question.
How much do reviews (good and bad) affect your choice of reading? If you see a bad review of a book you wanted to read, do you still read it? If you see a good review of a book you’re sure you won’t like, do you change your mind and give the book a try?
I tend not to let book reviews dictate what I read. The reason I do so is that I know what kind of books I like. If the blurb on the back catches my attention, I’ll give it a shot. For the most part, I have a bad habit of liking books that others panned and not liking books that others gave rave reviews to. I like to give my opinions on books, but I’m not really looking to say “read this book” or “don’t read this.” Very rarely will you see me giving a review that says “don’t waste your time” and very rarely will I take the advice of a reviewer who says not to waste my money or library card. LOL

This will be the first time I’ve participated in Booking Through Thursday, and I’m excited to begin with it. :) Here is this weeks question:
What new books are you looking forward to most in 2008? Something new being published this year? Something you got as a gift for the holidays? Anything in particular that you’re planning to read in 2008 that you’re looking forward to? A classic, or maybe a best-seller from 2007 that you’re waiting to appear in paperback?
Right now, the book I’m most looking forward to being able to purchase is probably Dragons of a Vanishing Moon from the Dragonlance series. That and any new books in the Dragonlance series. I’ve been waiting forever to buy Dragons of a Vanishing Moon and it’s been out for a while now. Other than that, I’m awaiting any possible new releases by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts/JD Robb, John Saul, Maggie Shane, or Christine Feehan. I think that about covers it.
